Documentary is a mirror into our shared humanity. Through subjects’ courageous storytelling, we find our own fears, flaws, joys, and achievements reflected.

My process in documentary work is conscientious and collaborative. I believe firmly that subjects are the ultimate owners of their stories and that it is my privilege to hear and handle the sharing of their stories. The most important part of my job in documentary is to listen closely to the text and subtext a subject shares with me so I can translate their truths to the screen in a compassionate and honest way. Documentary is about REAL people after all, and their lives are impacted when they share their stories with the world.
