Racing toward a live concert deadline, a group of high school students work together with seniors living with dementia to turn the seniors’ life stories into original songs. As the students struggle to capture their senior partners’ remarkable lives, one of the program’s longtime founders prepares for retirement, raising the question of what the future holds for this unique intergenerational program.

 

Told through a mix of interview and observational scenes, Memories to Music is a 20-minute documentary that shares the story of legacies–the legacy of a life, a program, and a connection. In a post-Covid world plagued by anxiety, isolation, and social disconnect, Memories to Music shows us how to find our way back to each other, one quarter note at a time.
